Royal Mail fails yet again

IT’S not often I find myself agreeing with Gary Bebbington but last week he was spot on about the shambles that is Royal Mail.

I agree entirely that the service is appalling and the Milner Street depot is manned by some miserable members of staff.

The other week, when I had a rare day off, I was stunned to see a red card in my porch to say that Royal Mail had tried to deliver something. I was in the kitchen when they called so there is absolutely no way they could have rang the doorbell. I don’t live in a mansion and my hearing is excellent.

As I wasn’t expecting anything, certainly not a parcel, I had no idea what it was. So it was a trip the next day to Milner Street, never a pleasant experience – to find I was signing for a letter from Sky (thanks Sky!). It doesn’t matter what time of day you go to Milner Street, there is always a queue.

I order quite a lot over the internet and always get parcels delivered to work so I can avoid those Royal Mail workers so happy in their jobs!

I just hope and pray every time i have to go its not the lazy, arrogant and rude chubby American guy! however i do wonder how he can make the word 'sir' sound so condescending! Next time your in, you will notice how much slower the queue goes down!!

While I do not dispute the service at Milner Street (as I have never actual used it), I am at a loss to how this person knew where they were when Royal Mail called. ‘I was in the kitchen when they called so there is absolutely no way they could have rang the doorbell’. If they knew where they were, why did they not answer the door? Maybe because they did not know when they called, but have made this comment to suggest Royal Mail simply turned up but did not ring the doorbell. I suppose a letter saying staff at Milner Street are a bit miserable does not make such a good letter/complaint.

I would just like to say I really like both my post men, They do a really good job, If I am not in they leave with neighbours or even take it to my sisters in another street. Milner street is sometimes busy but I just wait with patience and am happy to receive whatever it is they have held for me. Hats off post men wouldn't like to be without you. :)
