Town Hall rhododendron bushes have gone

WHY have the giant rhododendron bushes been removed from the front of the Town Hall?

I used to look forward to seeing the display of blooms. They were so beautiful and now they’re gone.

answer = they found hundreds of used needle. common place to shoot up apparently.. it was in the guardian a while ago i think
