On February 9, Clr Patel accused Great Sankey Parish Council of dithering over grit bins.
Let us put the story straight. The Parish Council was approached late last year by Warrington Borough Council regarding winter self-help in the form of providing five grit bins.
As a responsible parish council, we had to clarify any ongoing costs and carefully consider the position of these bins for their optimum effect for residents.
If we had not sought clarification on the costs, we may have had to put up our parish precept which we thought was unacceptable.
