So what kept you bin men?

AT long last the bin men have been to Latchford.

What took them so long? After the snow had gone they only made their work twice as hard. As for asking people to take their own rubbish to where it should go, what a disgrace.

How do they think old people and people like myself who are both elderly and disabled could do this?

The bin men have never had the job as easy as it is now. I remember when the bins were metal and they had to pick them up and carry them out to the cart. Some of the old bin men worked really hard and I wonder what they would have thought of today’s bin men.

What about the nurses who had to go out on foot in all the snow and ice to care for people who were ill, old and disabled? What about the postmen and the milkmen, and lots of others who were not afraid to put others first? These are the people who are worth knowing and thank you very much. The bin men should be ashamed of themselves.

To all the poor unfortunate people who did not get the bins emptied for a few weeks. It was not the bin mens fault, firstly management took the option not to send them out the decision was made by a Miss Paula Darlington and her staff not the bin men, secondly you were only advised there were collection points available you did not have to take your rubbish there as all side waste was going to be picked up anyway this was just to help people out and we were going out on those days rounds in the open backed vans, in some streets we were sliding all over the place or we had to dig the vans out of the snow, and to those who are complaining and wanting a rebate on their council tax £39 pound a year goes on your refuse collection so 2-3 weeks probably works out about £2 so for the person who complained and said they were going to a small claims court good luck with a pathectic waste of time hope you get laughed out of there. At the end of the day it was freezing cold so rubbish wasnt going to end up rotting it just needed residents to use common sense and put the side waste in good strong bags tied up. Thankyou to all of those who didnt feel the need to slag us off and appreciate the work we did, and to those who did not just put things into perspective people in Haiti are dying or injured, soldiers are being killed overseas. And your bin wasnt emptied!!!!!!!! Not quite as serious really is it.

MRS E ALLENDER Latchford.
I understand ur anger over the bins but its not down to the bin men its down to the boss's who say yes or no to them going out,
and they have to look at the bigger picture ie: did they want ther bin wagons slideing all over the place and hitting parked cars or worse, the bin men in warrington due what they can with in the letter of there job but they can not please every one.
