FOLLOWING all the recent debate about the Warburton Toll Bridge, one fundamental question remains.
Why on earth are drivers still paying 12p to cross a bridge?
What money can Peel be making.
They have to hire people to sit in the toll booths anyway.
I object to paying to cross the new Mersey bridge but at least that is £2 a go and they don’t employ staff in a toll booth.
But Peel, a company which makes millions and millions from the vast amounts of land it owns in the north west, surely cannot need the relative pittance it gets from pennies over a bridge.
All at the cost of bringing gridlock for residents in the area.
So come on Peel, do us all a favour and don’t bother rebuilding the toll bridges.
Nobody needs it – not even you.
