WITH reference to the markings on the Pink Eye roundabout, The Fly in the Ointment nailed it once again (Warrington Guardian, May 31).

He points to the danger and utter confusion due to the lack of paint on some of our roads.

On a few occasions I have witnessed close encounters, horns sounding and hand gestures, especially at the Pink Eye roundabout.

I approach it as if it were in no man’s land and I would be more comfortable driving an armoured car.

Winwick Road roundabout is just as bad but fortunately only has three lanes.

But there is a little bit of good news with regard to road markings which is worthy of organising the odd trip out.

The first location is the Liverpool Road traffic lights before the Trigger Pond.

There are new road markings which look splendid. There is a second location and the best in the county at Myddleton Lane and Golborne Road at Winwick village.

These are absolutely fabulous markings. They have even gone to the trouble to mark boxes around the speed bumps.

I think the traffic planners and the council need to get their act together.

All the motorists in Warrington want to know which lane they are in so please start ordering the paint in the interests of the safety of the motorists of Warrington.

Motor insurance companies might even give you an award.
