I REFER to James Wilson’s letter in the Warrington Guardian (May 17) regarding the opinion he has that Bridge Street has a desolate feeling.
I had occasion to visit the town centre this week, a rare thing for me.
All the major streets are filled full of empty boarded up shops. The streets are full of litter. It has a filthy look to the area, even on a bright spring day full of sunshine.
The whole area is an absolute dump. And totally unappealing.
While in town I visited the new market for the first time since it relocated.
The place was empty, void of customers and felt like a white elephant.
I feel sorry for the tenants of the market who are paying rent for a location that isn’t attracting custom.
