IT would be a sad reflection on the town of more than 200,000 residents if Warrington did not have an Arts Council.

Following the death of its secretary Dr Michael Murphy that is in prospect.

A meeting has been arranged at Holy Trinity Church, Market Gate at 7pm on Tuesday to discuss the way forward.

The remaining members of the Warrington Arts Council are looking to attract people with an interest in the voluntary arts scene in Warrington to attend and, perhaps, give the organisation new stimulus.

It would be a good start if you would kindly telephone 819182 or 265146 to let us know whether or not you would like to attend.
