IN reply to the Fly in the Ointment column which said Warrington Hospital should have a new hospital before Halton (Warrington Guardian, March 29).

Halton could be better used by the trust and this would help Warrington get this new build project off the ground by transferring some of the services in the old Kendrick building to Halton until the new hospital is built.

There is also enough empty space at Halton to provide another four operating theatres.

Again this would help the trust until the new hospital is build to replace Warrington.

The people in Halton do want both hospitals to be replaced but they do consider that Warrington does need a lot of money while Halton is a small hospital and the NHS could pay for this project.

The NHS expects the trust to obtain the funds for a £30 million major project for a new general hospital.
