I AM currently a patient at Warrington Hospital and have been asked to fill in their feedback form asking ‘did you get great care today?’.
I am unable to give a straight answer.
As far as what was good about my care, I would certainly pay homage to the staff who work tirelessly to ensure the care of their patients at all times while working with equipment which is quite frankly past its sell-by date.
We have just been informed that the commode can no longer be used to transfer patients to the disabled toilet which means that the majority of patients will have to carry out their bodily functions in the main body of the ward. This is quite frankly unacceptable and degrading.
Is this really what we have come to?
As far as their second question, what could be improved?
This is most certainly the archaic equipment with which our ‘resourceful angels’ are expected to perform miracles.
It would seem that the malfunction of the commode has been reported but as of yet no repair or replacement has been provided.
