VERY much enjoyed last week’s article featuring the memories of the nurses who helped launch the NHS (Warrington Guardian, March 1).
It seems remarkable to think that this incredible institution did not exist 70 years ago.
What is so important now is that we all act to make sure it is still here in another 70 years time because that has to be under question at the moment.
And it is not just about Jeremy Hunt – although some extra money from him really would not go amiss.
We all have a part to play in securing the NHS for the future.
Our older people are living longer and as medicine improves we all will live longer.
Hopefully 70 years from now we will salute those who saved the NHS.
