THE proposal to site a waste transfer station near the Shell Garage affects many council properties on both sides of the road (Warrington Guardian, February 15).
Not only will we have many lorries coming in and out of the site along Winwick Road but we will also have other lorries arriving to take the waste to its final destination and returning for more.
At times the A49 is still being blocked with standing traffic, with people going onto the M6 and M62, and to Junction Nine Retail Park.
The mess, fumes, noise and dust will not do any good for people’s homes and restaurants.
The environmental impact of such a provision is well known as it was publicised at the STI application.
Have all of these toxic wastes been taken out of the proposed waste? I think not.
Come on Warrington Borough Council, protect your citizens, which is your responsibility.
