I WOULD like to reply, in a civil manner, to what Peter Foster describes as my ‘rambling incoherent letter’ (Warrington Guardian, January 25).

1) The reason why I called the Conservative Party the most corrupt and undemocratic in Europe is mainly because of the United Nations investigation into its ‘gross human rights violations against its own citizens’ including children, homeless and disabled.

I’ve looked at every other EU country, although not with a microscope, and can find no such investigation elsewhere.

2) The fact that the EU does or does not have the abilities to handle/monitor its procedures can in no way be seen as a green light for any government to subject its citizens to human rights abuses.

3) The expression ‘Grateful for the EU preventing you being run over by a bus’ was simply an analogy.

4) A poll published in December by The Independent and conducted by BMG Research showed 51 per cent now back remaining in the union, while 41 per cent want Brexit. Trump has never had a ‘Genius University’ stable or otherwise and if his fawning over May is anything to go by he is never likely to.

5) One doesn’t need an insight into the minds of Gove and Johnson as both are career politicians with their own self-serving agenda and the well being of the country and the electorate is the last thing they will worry about in the race to number 10.

As I’ve stated before I am not an admirer of the EU and citing James Dyson who left Britain to manufacture in Malaysia and Tim Martin who is a Tory donor as men of stature would seem to be looking through rose tinted glasses.

I would chance being run over by a bus to avoid them both.

I leave readers with the choice of listening to right wing rhetoric or making their own minds up.
