I WOULD like to draw your attention to potential plans put in place as part of the Parkside planning application submitted with St Helens Council (Warrington Guardian, January 18).
The plans, which would see hundreds of HGVs and cars travelling up the A49 through Winwick onto the M6/M62, include significant works to the road network at Winwick.
The plans state that 90 per cent of traffic exiting the development will head to Winwick.
As you can see, this will involve a significant amount of delays to drivers to complete the improvement works and filter lanes planned are likely to cause more issues than solutions.
If I were a Warrington resident, I would not be happy that St Helens are planning on sending a huge amount of traffic through an already congested area of a neighbouring authority.
