I REMEMBER upstairs at the Blackburn Arms they had a cocktail lounge called the Cock & Trumpet (Warrington Guardian, January 18).
At weekends there was a man playing the piano.
The Salvation Army came selling copies of the War Cry. A man came with a large handled basket selling cockles, prawns and mussels. Happy times.
