Roll out cost?
I WAS delighted to read that the council’s experiment to charge for parking in South Warrington had been such a success and that a net profit of £65,000 had been generated (Warrington Guardian, January 11).
While in the overall scheme of things this is a drop in the ocean compared to the council’s total budget, in the words of a famous supermarket ‘Every little helps’.
No doubt having seen the benefit of this trial, the council will now roll out car parking charges throughout the north of the town too.
Don’t hold your breath.
