I DECIDED to write after all the discussions and attending council meetings regarding Victoria Park being able to host festivals from next year onwards (Warrington Guardian, November 16).

It was agreed by the nearest residents affected that as long as all safety and requested requirements were met and adhered to, such an event could be granted.

Four requests were put forward on numerous occasions.

They were, to allow controlled passage of residents coming in and out of their estates during the event; to have access to parking and prevent motorists who do not live in the community from parking in our estate; to offer the closest affected residents free event tickets or alternative hotel accommodation for the duration of the festival to minimise disruption and to keep the community happy; to have constant policing to prevent damage to our property.

These are all based on a similar agreement that honours residents every year in Daresbury where Creamfields is held.

Of course I can see that a festival is now planned for a full weekend in May 2018 but I, along with many other residents, have not received any information regarding any of the requirements that were asked for at the time of the council hearing.

There is no evidence or feedback to support our requirements now that the event is going ahead.
