RE the proposed zebra crossing on Long Lane outside Beamont School (Warrington Guardian, October 27).
We received a letter letting us know work was starting on a crossing outside the school, which I have to say came as quite a relief.
Work started with great gusto on October 23 and continued on 24 and 25. Then strangely everything came to a halt.
School half term came and went and still nothing.
I then contacted Warrington Borough Council and received an email saying that due to the school entrance and exit roads not being suitable they are unable to continue at this time.
So they have left another job half done and a total mess.
Barriers and cones are knocked over on a regular basis.
This morning a man with a van has arrived to take up the few paving flags they put down.
Surely if they cannot complete the original work they could flatten the ground and just flag the rest of it?
WBC at its best.
Another waste of our council tax.
