I WAS lucky enough to be at the Parr Hall on Thursday for the Amy Macdonald gig.

She was outstanding, with incredible energy and a beautiful voice.

But sitting there and listening to her speak with such enthusiasm about the old venue really got me thinking.

The old organ was used as a backdrop and the place was packed. More than 1,000 people in a town centre venue on a Thursday night listening to live music.

We do have a lot of good things on our doorstep in Warrington but we seem so reluctant to talk about it or celebrate it.

Instead we hear non-stop moaning.
