I’VE just returned from Hull, UK City of Culture, and feel embarrassed that our council had the nerve to apply to be a future capital of culture.
Hull has two theatres, a music centre and the first rate Ferens art gallery, plus several museums, fine architecture and a very welcoming population. It feels like a city.
I have lived in Warrington for more than 30 years and like the town, but it is a town, without true potential as a city.
My plea to our council and its overweening officials is develop the town properly, improve its roads and its services.
