JUST read about Mersey Gateway opening soon (Warrington Guardian, September 7).
Are people aware that for instance if you take your child to Widnes to the ice skating arena, as we do often, it is £2 to drop off, £2 to return home then £2 to pick up and then a £2 return trip home.
That’s a total of £8 to take your child to and back from Widnes in one day just to ice skate and if you don’t pay within 48 hours it is a mandatory £60 fine.
Now that’s an awful amount of money.
Bearing that in mind will drivers not wanting to pay this money not just change their route and drive through Warrington?
I was under the incorrect impression that this bridge was to benefit rod users and help with congestion through Warrington.
Surely it will do the opposite?
