Better options
HOW disappointing that Bellway Homes have chosen the name ‘Primrose Gardens’ for their housing development on the Dawson House site (Warrington Guardian, August 31).
A pretty name, no doubt, but one that bears no direct association with the location.
Even if Percy Dawson is no longer remembered, the original building on the site – Bancroft House (also now demolished) – had a long and distinguished history.
A name such as Bancroft Gardens would have been nice.
