I CAME across a poster about plans for the railway embankment and I cannot begin to express how stressful this has made me feel.
In the past Warrington Borough Council has expressed to residents that a meeting would be held should any plans be proposed for the embankment.
Latchford is a relatively poor area of Warrington and has no parish council which I feel puts us at a great disadvantage in opposing any plans.
The effects of turning the embankment into a road would be devastating not only for the environment – loss of habitats, increased pollution and reduced vegetation, but also on wellbeing.
There would be increased noise, traffic and reduction in tress and wildlife.
Not to mention the possibility of reduction in property value or compulsory purchase.
This suggestion has caused myself and residents in Latchford great anxiety.
