I THOUGHT that I would experience some sort of backlash regarding my comments, that I may vote Labour on axing the tolls if all MPs in the north west got together and tried to persuade the Government to abolish all toll roads.

As expected Graham Brinksman replied (Warrington Guardian, August 24) with his usual anti-Tory rhetoric.

That’s fine by me as he is entitled to his opinion as I am mine.

I never use the bridges as the route is the same distance to the M56 whichever way I am going, by Bridge Foot or the bridge at Widnes, when travelling to anywhere that needs that route.

So really it is of no consequence to me other than I think it unfair for all residents Labour, Tory or Liberal to have to pay to cross a bridge or pass through a tunnel, anywhere in the country.

Scotland and now Wales have got rid of tolls and so should England.
