THERE has been a lot of discussion and opinions in the Warrington Guardian in recent weeks regarding the proposed bypass road from Walton to Great Sankey.
With the new Runcorn Bridge about to open within two weeks we anticipate what effect that will have on our already chronically congested road system in Warrington.
We have already experienced what the effects of an incident on the M6 has on the town.
Nearly every day now there are incidents on the M6 which add to our congestion problems.
A solution has to be found.
Relief to the congestion can only be found by constructing a relief road around the town carrying traffic to all points of the compass north, south, east and west.
I have argued that the town is now big enough to warrant a tram system.
Better traffic management is needed and the introduction of policed yellow box junctions where offended are fined for their selfish driving.
But of course this could have been sorted out in the previous years if we had a decent council that opened its eyes and had the vision to avoid this mess we find ourselves in today.
