ON June 22 I had to go into Warrington Hospital for a small operation as a day case.

First of all I had to go on the surgical assessment unit where I had to wait five-and-a-half hours for a bed before I was told that the operation would go ahead.

After the operation I was sent to ward 22 which is a whole new experience to say the least.

When I was eventually allowed out, nobody told me what the outcome was.

The day after things started to go wrong.

I went back to the surgical assessment unit where I waited five hours in agony.

This unit is a complete shambles.

You get treated like a piece of discarded meat.

I was told by a doctor that things would settle down in a couple of weeks, so I went home.

Two days later things got really bad so I went back to the assessment unit where I waited for 10-and-ahalf hours with the offer of no food or drink.

The doctor eventually came and said what the problem was and gave me medication and to come back on the Monday at 8.30am which I did and they would call a consultant out before the start of their rounds.

But guess what?

That did not happen and for twoand- a-half hours I waited again.

Then it wasn’t a consultant.

Yet again I was told something different.

By this time I was losing the will to live.

Warrington Hospital has got to get its act together.

If it was star rated I would not give it half a star.

I will not go back there by choice (I am really disappointed by the treatment).
