WELL done again Warrington Borough Council.

Towns like Warrington only have so many scenic areas and Walton is one of them, it seems like the council is trying its best to destroy it.

First they let a car showroom open, then mysteriously the Ship Inn ‘falls down’, only for the council to let the builder replace it with a plastic version.

Now they want this so-called Western Link Expressway, starting with a huge bridge and junction in Walton, then fill in the gaps either side of the road and beyond onto green belt land with houses.

They certainly know how to destroy an area.

We all know that when you build a bridge morons with spray cans move in and deface it.

Not to mention the fly tipping.

All of this for a road nobody wants.

They will destroy Walton and its green belt land.

And what about the poor people who will have their houses taken off them?

The new Runcorn/Widnes Mersey Gateway Bridge will take traffic from Warrington.

If the new link road is built it will create more traffic because it won’t be long before lorry drivers and people not from Warrington realise you can cross here and not pay a toll.

It all comes down to Warrington Borough Council wanting to become a city.

Warrington is a town not a city.

If Warrington people wanted to live in a city they would move to Manchester or Liverpool.

So well done council.

Have you got any more great ideas?

Leave Walton and its green belt land alone and let’s stay Warrington town.
