AND now, the end is near.

Warrington Wolves are confirmed in the bottom four of the league.

I still can’t believe this group of players could serve up such rubbish all season.

We have some of the best players in the competition yet have been rooted to the bottom of the league.

And the last two performances (plus one or two others this season – Brisbane and St Helens at home) have shown the promise and what could have been achieved.

On the positive side, we now have eight games left to try to build some confidence and momentum for next season. It seems to have worked for Leeds this year.

I just cannot wait for London away.

Rather than travelling to the capital to watch us in the Challenge Cup final, we will be going to some tinpot stadium down the road to play in front of a handful of people.

How times have changed.

But maybe these more humble surroundings will make the players more hungry to avoid those sort of trips next year.

Roll on 2018 I say.
