I WAS wondering if Warrington Borough Council had been in discussions with Halton Borough Council to learn what has gone well with the new Mersey Link construction and what has not gone so well?

So that they can take on board lessons learnt.I have been a trustee of the Mersey Gateway Environmental Trust since 2010.

The trust has a 30-year life during which we will be monitoring any impact that the construction process has on the Upper Mersey Estuary from Widnes to Woolston.

Our other main aim is to set up and manage projects that will increase biodiversity in what we affectionately call our living laboratory.

We have already completed several successful mini projects (including one at Woolston Weir monitoring salmon) but with funding from Wren we are now able to focus on the salt marshes near to Fiddler’s Ferry.

I’d love to put forward more projects/ideas, to fellow directors, for Warrington based projects.

I would like to hear from environmental groups, schools, clubs etc. Please do this via our Facebook site at facebook.com/ MerseyGatewayET.
