ONCE upon a time there was a beautiful area called Woolston Eyes, a special bird watching area where bird watchers in great numbers spent lots of time.

There were lakes to look at, lots of lovely walks and many people came from miles away to spend a few hours out in the country getting fresh air and beauty and peace and happiness.

Not any longer.

The long arm of greedy and self caring business has taken over with mighty force.

Peel Holdings has taken this lovely spot, mowed down the trees and decimated the area.

Have they got planning permission?

Did the council know they would use it as a dump?

Has the council seen it since Peel Holdings put its hands on it?

If indeed the council is aware perhaps they will be considerate enough to to tell the people who live around this area what will happen here once Peel Holdings has finished piling rubbish on it?

If the council has agreed to this use of green belt land they should have notified the ratepayers and made it a matter for general consultation.

Take heed all of you who love the countryside.

We elect our councillors to work for us, not Peel.
