I AM writing regarding the atrocious signage regarding parking at Warrington Hospital.

I have had the misfortune to visit the hospital twice in the past week to take my husband to appointments.

On the first occasion, despite reading the instructions at the pay station and asking four people for help, we could not work out how to pay for the parking.

The instructions are hopeless.

On the second visit, there was a queue of around 12 people waiting to pay – all were struggling with the machines and could not, without help from regular visitors, work out how to pay.

It is not clear how the charges are calculated. Everyone thought the machine would state how much to pay after inputting the registration but it would appear the customer has to determine how much to pay.

This is not explained on the pay station signage.

I wonder how many people are being fined when in fact they have tried to pay?

In addition, it is not clear if the free 30 minutes means you can park for two hours and 30 minutes for £2.50 or if you lose the 30 minutes if you stay for longer than 30 minutes.

The company should be forced to make the charges and how to pay absolutely clear.
