IN reply to Cllr Jordan’s letter (Warrington Guardian, March 23) where she suggests I should seek the assistance of the parish council before ‘moaning to the press’.

For years myself and other members of our community have tried in vain to protect the wonderful way of life we had in Stockton Heath.

We would attend council meetings with our concerns, trying to find some assistance from the parish council but to no avail.

We were shrugged off by ‘it is out of our control’. So why is it there?

The point of my letter to the Warrington Guardian was to thank them for bringing the attention of the Town Hall to a particular problem in the street where I live which was dealt with immediately.

So the way forward to get your concerns or moans heard is to stick it in the press.

Surely our parish councillors walk around the village. They must see what I and every other resident sees, so why do I have to share my thoughts?

Finally, each time a new venture opens in the village we are treated to lavish opening ceremonies covered by the local press only to see them fall like a pack of dominoes.

It is a crying shame for the hopefuls who saw their future with us but found enough is enough.
