I READ with interest the articles in the Warrington Guardian (March 9) regarding Warrington’s bid for UK City of Culture 2021 status.
Looking at the list of prospective bidders, most of them have a theatre.
Surely it’s about time that Warrington built a proper theatre.
It could then attract West End shows and big productions and Warringtonians wouldn’t have to go to the theatres in Manchester or Liverpool or further afield to see these.
I believe that in the past there were several theatres in Warrington.
How can we have a Cultural Quarter and bid for UK City of Culture without one?
