I’VE just read the report in the Warrington Guardian (February 2) on the new parking charges at Warrington Hospital.
On the basis of the figures you’ve quoted, I’m tempted to ask ‘What cuts?’ The only reduction I can see (and then it’s only 50p) is for stays of between half an hour and two hours.
Everyone else pays more.
For stays of four to five hours it is up from £3 to £5 – a 66 per cent increase.
If these figures are correct, then it would seem Highview Parking is up to its old tricks again.
They have made a subtle change to the charge bands so as to be able to present an increase as a cut.
It takes a rare kind of genius to come up with a subterfuge like that.
