I HAVE been reading in the Warrington Guardian about the proposals to downgrade A&E in Warrington which is frankly unbelievable (Warrington Guardian, November 10).
A&E is the only way that Warrington people can get out-ofhours care, or even in-hours care if they can’t get a GP appointment.
So what else are they supposed to do? Warrington NHS Clinical Commissioning Group did provide an out-of-hours GP service at the hospital but to ensure it wasn’t used it has moved it to Bath Street.
Now there is cost-cutting at stealth.
If they put it there no-one will use it and they can close it down – exactly what they did with the walkin centre.
The urgent care centre at Halton Hospital is brilliant. Why doesn’t Warrington have such a centre?
