WHAT is the point of a consultation?

For years now we have lived with the threat of HS2.

We filled in the forms, spoke to the relevant people and raised our feelings.

This could not be allowed to happen as it would ruin our lives.

And we don’t even live on the planned route as some poor people do.

We chose to live in Culcheth because we liked the village feel and enjoy the life here.

But how will we manage now?

Even if we want to move what price will we get for our house?

And if we stay, how loud will trains whizzing past sound?

It may get people to London faster but how much use is that to the rest of us?

There is another consultation now but what is the point?

HS2 looks like it is happening. I only hope it is delayed and does not happen in our lifetime.
