HAS anyone else noticed the same problem?
Users of the footpath which is accessed via Kingsland Grange in Woolston are no longer able to enter Birchwood Railway Station via the gate on to platform two which gives those with mobility issues, bicycle users, pushchair users or anyone with heavy wheeled luggage the option to use the lift.
Instead staff say that owing to a dispute with Warrington Borough Council, which has ownership of the footpath and the old stairway crossing, users of the less-thanideally maintained footpath must go over the pedestrian bridge and enter the station from the main entrance on the Dewhurst Road side and then, if they wish to access platform two they then have to cross the train track again using the new station footbridge or lift.
