DID I imagine it or did this country vote to leave the European Union in an example of democracy?

I have my doubts when I hear news from those who seek political power that they aim to delay article 50 and push for another referendum.

I refer principally ‘if that is the right word’ to one Owen Smith who appears to be confused about the meaning of the word democracy.

Simply put Mr Smith the people – not just you – have spoken and democracy should be upheld.

Or do people of your ilk really want to insult the electorate’s intelligence and knowledge of how the European Union operates?

Perhaps Mr Smith would prefer that we should all live in a foreign dictatorship under the guise of a European police state.

It could be of course that certain politicos simply want to line themselves up for a guaranteed seat on that European express dubbed the gravy train reserved for failed politicians on nice and not so small earners.

On the one hand we have the precious few in politics who want to create a fairer society for the many who have attracted many more to their cause and on the other those who seek power for its own sake to maintain a political elite.

Those who seek office of any kind would do well to remember the old adage ‘power corrupts’.

Or in this case should that be et tu Brute?
