SO Cllr Terry O’Neill is calling on residents to help keep the towns streets clean (Warrington Guardian, August 18).
I couldn’t agree more. Litter is a blight on the town and a continuing problem.
However, about three months ago the litter bin at the bus stop in Sycamore Lane in Great Sankey was removed.
So I sent an email to the street cleaning department to report it but nothing happened.
I sent a second email and once again nothing happened. So I decided to send an email to my councillor in the hope that they would be able to help.
However even though I believe she did her best, the last email I had was to inform me that the budgets were stretched.
I presume this is council speak for we don’t have the money.
But unless the council can provide litter bins this litter problem will continue.
