I AM an avid reader of the Guardian, I read it from cover to cover all week until I get the next edition.

A story this week that caught my eye was Warrington Borough Council’s plans to try to bring in a bin charge of £30 a year for emptying green bins (Warrington Guardian, May 12).

This is a no and many will simply get a compost heap in the garden or put it in the black bin.

The trouble with this council is they can’t make do with the council tax and spend it wisely, they want more and more of our hard earned money to spend on a hub at Bewsey, when we have one over the road.

This council needs to privatise a lot more services instead of direct services getting all the cream.

You could privatise the bin service, grass cutting, tree pruning and make Golden Gates housing employees franchisees.
