I AM an older person who voted to remain in the EU.

I passionately believe that the UK is better off in every way if it remains.

The EU has done much to increase our peace and prosperity over the past 40 years and it would be much easier to press for reforms from within rather than from the outside.

I’m convinced that the world would be a safer and happier place for us and our children if it evolved to unite rather than regress to the tribalism of the past.

I also believe in democratic rights, but surely in the light of the realisation that the Leave campaign has played on people’s emotions, and told lies without an alternative plan for the future, is it not worth ascertain whether any of the people who voted to leave have changed their minds?

Now that the campaigns are over and people can see the possible consequences of Brexit, there is still time for this decision to be reversed.

It is now clear that the Government which called for the referendum will now wrongly blame the people for any resulting hardships.

Do we want to risk the UK being fragmented and divided? We do not need to jump off the cliff because of the mistakes and ambitions of a few.
