THE subject of road pollution has cropped up again.
This is caused by vehicles being needlessly held up by too many traffic lights and very bad road planning.
More and more houses being built but no thought put into road planning.
Once again it takes the public to point out the rubbish sequence of lights at Long Lane and Winwick Road.
My biggest crib is the dangerous sequences at Crosfield Island after exiting Thewliss Street.
Traffic hangs back into that from town travelling to Sankey Way.
The same at the island with Lythgoes Lane and Battersby Lane.
One of the recent letters highlights bad planning with regards to the pedestrian crossing on Knutsford Road (Warrington Guardian, June 9).
Surely this road warrants a pelican crossing to force traffic to stop and give safe passage to pedestrians at Victoria Park?
It seems we can have traffic lights where they are not needed and not where they are.
