I FOUND your article re motorists being targeted on Knutsford Road very pertinent to a situation I have found myself in with Warrington Borough Council (Warrington Guardian online, June 4).
Namely the crossing at the entrance to Victoria Park. It is inadequate and a pelican crossing is needed.
People do not stop, sometimes one side will stop and not the other.
I have been asking for a crossing at Knutsford Road for almost a decade only to be repeatedly told that it is not a dangerous location.
There are now three pelican crossings at Chapelford and more than 10 on Manchester Road (between the M6 and Sainsburys). I am a concerned parent.
Children crossing from Latchford into the park should do so in safety.
I will never cease from trying to get a pelican crossing at Victoria Park.
I have kept all correspondence going back several years now (for evidence) and every time I use this inadequate crossing at the entrance of the park I will be filming it.
Knutsford Road is an accident waiting to happen.
I am basically told Knutsford Road is not dangerous enough.
I see multiple crossings across the town but as no one is run down outside my house no crossing is deemed necessary.
It appears there will have to be a fatality for a crossing to be installed.
My issue is one of concern. The council’s issue is one of finance.
