I’M writing to congratulate Warrington Borough Council on its deal with CineWorld to build a multiplex cinema in the Bridge Street quarter.
I think it is fantastic news.
I will be there every night when it opens.
Every town needs a cinema.
Just think of all the new jobs it will create.
I’m looking forward to the new David Brent film Life on the Road but I guess I will be driving up to the Odeon at Westbrook for that one.
It’s a pity Mr Smith’s couldn’t have been turned back into a small cinema.
But that’s all academic now considering it went up in smoke.
I will always remember going to the old Odeon cinema on Buttermarket Street to watch Ducktales when I was a kid.
It was worth going just for the theme tune.
The new cinema is set to open in 2019 so I may be able to watch the sequel to Brad Pitt’s zombie thriller World War Z there.
I hope I can watch it at the new cinema or I will be running from the real drunken zombies on Bridge Street on a Saturday night.
On another note, all my friends are saying I am turning into David Brent.
I wish it was Brad Pitt instead.
