FOR some time now I have been involved with others in working with the CCG in presenting to the communities a survey about GPs giving prescriptions of sun cream etc (Warrington Guardian, January 21).

I too was surprised at the amount that would be saved, in fact it is a drop in the ocean compared with what is being fleeced out of the NHS budget.

First let me say that I of course fully agree that sun creams and the like should not be on prescription, let’s not forget that there are some people in the community that would find it very hard if having to pay for cold and flu remedies.

The CCG has stated that such people will not be affected by these savings.

What about the many millions that is having to be paid out to the very greedy agencies?

They persuade NHS staff to work for them by offering higher rates of pay and then rent them to the NHS for three and four times the correct rate that it should be.

When I asked our PM Mr Cameron what he was prepared to do about these outrageous charges his answer was that he did not blame anybody for working for the best pay.

The CCG is a board of doctors set up by the Government to oversee the payments for all heath care services.

On the whole they are doing a good job, I am not sure though they will be able to address the problems that agencies and BUPA cause while we have a Conservative Government.

It has been said many times that the Conservatives want to save the NHS and still they allow other organisations to deprive the outcome of the NHS.

It is also the board of doctors’ colleagues who are helping this happen while working for higher rates of pay.
