I READ the letter from A Edwards with no real surprise at the usual objections by supporters of the monarchy to anyone who does not genuflect before this feudal nonsense.
Perhaps he should consider replacing ‘Republican/Leftie opinions’ with ‘believer in democracy’.
He attacks Josh Booth as a ‘career Labour politician’ (presumably he has no problem with career Conservative politicians).
I accept the Labour bit but ‘career politician’.
The only evidence for this is his position as a councillor.
Wishing to serve the public is hardly evidence for that or a reason to attack him.
The position of councillor is of course one he was prepared to stand for and face the public vote – it’s called democracy.
The same cannot be said for the careerist royals.
