TRAVELLING to work this morning in Woolston I counted the number of bicycles being ridden without having lights on them.

I was staggered to find that it numbered 17.

The majority of these were dressed in black/dark clothing with their hoods up.

I only travel five miles to work passing the Kingsland Grange industrial estate where this is particularly prevalent and was wondering when the police will take action against these cyclists before they either get themselves seriously hurt or killed.

This in addition to the trauma caused to the person hitting them should be enough reason for action to be taken.
