GARY, Gary, why do you have to bring politics into all your issues (Warrington Guardian Opinion, December 31)?

If you have a complaint, why not do what I do and ring your local councillor or have them address your problem?

As I have said before, I find this council to be very obliging.

Where were you four years ago?

I was objecting to the council’s pilot scheme to bring in ‘street clean’ because of Government cuts as they were told to trim the number of employees.

The first to go were the men with the little carts who took pride in keeping their particular area clean.

I said then that this idea of blitzing one area at a time would not work.

They don’t even use brushes and shovels, they just pick up rubbish and place it in bags.

What’s this Gary about a divided town?

As a Winwick parish councillor, I represent Poulton North, one of the town’s most deprived areas.

One of the reasons for this is that is has a very large turnover of families coming and going.

Young people from broken homes try to find work and there are more than the fair share of immigrants with their different problems.

They are finding it hard to make ends meet with the Government cuts.

If you think the town is divided, maybe we can get the council to rehouse some of these people in Grappenhall and then you can ask for more services?

Because of cuts we may lose the YMCA and the little angel who runs it.

Where will all the homeless people go?

The Government is paying £300 billion to keep us in Europe and £40 million for the flood defences.

They say it is against the law for us to dredge the rivers to prevent flooding and that we will have to pay a fine for doing so.

Mr Cameron is giving £50 million to help our own flood victims. How kind.

It is going to cost £500 million in Cumbria alone.

There are a lot more problems out there than leaves.

I should spare a thought for those people whose homes are under three feet of water.

On Monday, there is an executive board meeting at the Town Hall.

Members of the public are welcome.

I shall be there, will you?
