I HAVE some sympathy with some of what Elizabeth Hall has to say in your article about Parkfields Park (Warrington Guardian, December 10).
It has suffered from neglect for many years and fortunately Mayor Councillor Geoff Settle (LAB – Poulton North) is trying to rectify this.
The park is possibly not helped by its position, not as generally visible as the large, better maintained lawn and pretty flowerbed in front of the Town Hall.
Out of sight out of most people’s minds.
However I cannot agree with her over what she describes as big stones.
Speaking as a member of the local public I am, as she puts it, concerned about this unique feature.
The design of the stone circle (revealed in last week’s Warrington Guardian and other aspects of the park design means that Parkfields Park has the potential to be a jewel in Warrington’s crown.
