THE proposed Centre Park-Chester Road link bridge (Warrington Guardian, October 8) does not address the real traffic problem of vehicles needing to cross Warrington town centre.
It is £19 million just to provide access to Centre Park.
The proposed scheme still leaves bottlenecks at the swing bridge and the junction at the Stag pub, as well as giving no relief from Wilson Patten Street.
Why don’t the planners do a proper job and provide a link from Chester Road opposite the crematorium in Walton to join Sankey Way at the roundabout near the Bowling Green pub?
This would allow cross traffic to bypass the town centre completely.
Come on planners, the real traffic solution has been obvious for years.
Why are you avoiding it?
